I had the shop put the 69 Elco on thier chassis dyno today-not good! only 268 Hp at the wheels!! I thought this thing was good for at least 350 RWH What do think is wrong here? This is my setup: 383 Stroker,Comp Cams XE 268 H ( 480 lift) 1 6 roller rockers,Dart Sportsman ll aluminum heads,RPM

I recently inherited an 85 "SS" as well I ran across an interesting post in a Chevelle forum that makes for a good read Its about How To Spot an Genuine SS Apparently after 1978 the SS was nothing more than a decal and a smile I don't have much more than a dash decal either but some VIN databases do recognize it as a SS by the engine class, i e insurance databases Hope this helps
